Forget Nintendo Wii, Playstation and other video games. Why? Your kids will never learn anything from them. Their brains will never develop. Instead these video games will stunt the growth of your kids’ brains.

When you play video games for many hours and don’t spend enough time going out, it could lead to social problems resulting in your kids becoming shy and introvert. And don’t get me started on the levels of violence that you can find in most of the games nowadays. Slowly but surely, your kids will tend to lose control and become more aggressive.

How about Webkinz? Is Webkinz any different from the above?

I know how addictive Webkinz can be. I know how long one can spend in the Webkinz World and forget everything in the offline world once they’re there. I know how my niece rather skips her meals to play with her Webkinz online. I’m guilty of that too. And I’m sure you too have missed a meal or two before. They don’t call it a craze for nothing. So, if you are a parent, you should limit your child’s time inside the Webkinz World. Though it’s easier said than done, you have no other choice but to do it. What you can do is set a timer next to the computer. Otherwise Webkinz can really occupy your children’s time and turn them into one of those video gamers and then the effects that Webkinz has on your kids will be no different than the effects that the video games have on them.

Apart from all that, apart from all the fun that your kids can have with Webkinz, I do believe that Webkinz will give something that no other toys or video games can ever give to your children. Something so valuable that nothing else can offer. Do you know what that something is?

We all know that in the Webkinz World you have to take care of your pets. That’s the first thing that you have to do, i repeat: taking care of your Webkinz pets. This is a big responsibility for a kid. Which means they have to make sure that their pets are healthy and well fed. They have to make sure that their pets have all the fun that they can have, so that they can maintain their happiness. If they love their pets, they will do everything they can to make sure that their pets stay healthy and happy. So, your children will learn how to be responsible and caring, not only for their pets but also to the people around them.

You Don’t Get Something For Nothing

So, again, they have to make sure that their pets are healthy and happy right? In order to do that, you have to buy their Webkinz pets food, furniture and a lot more. How can they make sure of that? They have to earn some Kinzcash. With Kinzcash, they are able to buy the stuff for their pets. How to earn Kinzcash? They have to play games, quizzes, answer trivia questions so that they can earn that Kinzcash. This way, they’ll learn that in life, things don’t come to them that easy. You have to work to earn it. You don’t get something for nothing. You have to work hard to get that dream car you’ve always wanted, you have to work hard to get that dream house by the beach, you have to work hard to buy that boat, I think you get the picture.

The next time they want another Webkinz toy, you have to make sure that they can’t just ask you for it. As a parent, the next time they ask you to buy another Webkinz, you can ask them to do their chores or their home work. You can reward them with a Webkinz toy when they get good grades at school. You know, all that jazz.

Webkinz are Educational

Most of the stuff in the Webkinz World are educational. From the quizzes to the trivia questions, there is always something that your children can learn from all these. Most of these stuff are also in line with what the kids learn from school. They are able to use their imagination. Webkinz motivates your children to learn more. Also, your kids are exposed to the Internet at a very young age. They’ll learn to develop their computer skills.

Interact with other Webkinz pet owners

Apart from playing by themselves, they have a chance to interact with other Webkinz owners in the Webkinz World. They get to chat with them. Get tips and advice and a whole lot more. Your children will have more online friends and these friends might come from all over the world. In the long run, they’ll learn about the world as a whole. The diverse cultures, the different races and a whole lot more.
